Animal Stories of all kinds

Posted by Picasa
  • Just three more days for the scrapbooking special for the month of May. This card was made with the stamp set called Animal Stories. It is on special for 30% off the regular price. Don't miss out on it.  I also used Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes. The kiss technique was used to get that pattern on the giraffe. First I inked it up with Apricot Apeal, then I inked up the bubbles stamp from Circle Circus and touched the rubber of the giraffe with it several times before stamping it onto Whisper White card stock.

Here is one made with the whale stamp from the same Animal Stories set. I added some glitter to the "water" to make it sparkle. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. I inked up the embossing folder before running the white cardstock through the Big Shot.
Here I used the owl out of the Animal Stories stamps and just repeated him 3x. Also using Circle Circus for the background.
And one last one is the elephant from the same set. Repeated in Positively Pink, Elegant Eggplant and Summer Sun
If you have any questions leave a comment or email me. Also if you want to order anything to make cards like these email me and I'll be happy to help you. Some of these supplies are retired but the current supplies that Stampin' Up has available make equally (or better) cards and scrapbooking pages.
I would love to hear from you what you think about these cards and thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Hapy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to everyone. I gave this card to my mom several hours ago and she seemed to like it very much. I also gave her a hand stamped trivet using the Medallion stamp. I'll have to get a picture of that, I forgot too before I gave it to her.
  • The wing of the bird on the 2 step bird punch makes a great petal for these tulips, and a little sponging gives them some depth.
  • Lap of Luxury dsp was used along with Pretty In Pink for the card base.
  • The stems are also from the 2 step bird punch.
  • Teeny Tiny Wishes was used for the sentiment.
Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

To place an order 24/7 go to my website and check out the clearance rack, always great deals there and the specials for the month of May are some stamp sets and scrapbooking items for 30% off.

Narcissus for Easter

Easter is coming and I saw a card similar to this on Deesigns blog and just loved it. So last night our stamping group for our church got together and this is what I made. It will go to one of the veterans at the VA hospital here in town for Easter. I hope that it brightens his day.

What I used:
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sayings and Four Frames
  • Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
  • Paper: Pumpkin Pie cs, Dafodil Delight cs, Whisper White cs
  • Tools: Decorative Label punch, Boho Blossoms punch, 5 Petal Flower punch, Scallop oval punch
  • Accessories: Soft Subtles brads
For the centers of the flowers I crunched up the card stock really well and kept working it until it was soft enough to form and then glued each to the center of the flower.

Circles of Sympathy

Just a few more days left in Saleabration and then it will be gone for another year. If you want to place an order head over to my website and get a FREE item or two. Let me know if you need anything or have any questions I would love to help you.

There was a similar card sent to me by my upline, Cindy Fodor, so I'm not sure who made it but I cased it and this is what I came up with.
  • I used the Circle Circus stamp set to get the main image panel. They were stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then sponged in Early Espresso ink, a grid was stamped on top in Black stazon ink .
  • The Black Card and the Vanilla panel were both run through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder then sponged with Early Espresso ink. The Vanilla panel was also edge with the Eyelet Border Punch onc of my favorites
  • With Sympathy from Teeny Tiny Wishes set was stamped in black and punched out with the modern label punch and another black one was also punched out and moved over to the left. A pearl from Basic Jewels was added on the end right there and also 3 pearls were added to the main image panel.
I hope you like this card. It is very striking in real life and the texture just doesn't come through on the picture the way I wish it could but I sent this to a friend of mine who lost her mother recently. I pray it brought her a little bit of comfort.
Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Update on this one.  Julie Gearinger created the original card with the Button Button set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. You can check all her work out on her blog. Thanks Julie for letting me know. Your blog is great.

Spring is Coming Soon

It took me a long time to get the lattice die for the Big Shot. Now I wish I would have ordered it a long time ago. If you don't have this die you are missing out on a whole world of style that is available for a small cost. This card is very little stamping but a whole lot of punching.
  • This is what was used. 2 3/8" scallop circle , Boho Blossoms, 1/2" circle, 1 1/4" circle, scallop oval, small oval, Dotted ribbon border all punches from Stampin' Up and the Lattice die and also the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.
  • Teen Tiny Wishes supplied the sentiment and Garden Green ink was used to stamp it. The Card Stock is Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Whisper White and Chocolate Chip
I think it is a cheerful springtime card I would like to know what you think by leaving me a comment.
If you would like to order Stampin' Up product head over to my website Any Questions let me know and thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

This is a Mary Fish design and I'm proud to say that I get a great deal of inspiration from her blog.

Elizabeth in Concord Crush

The Elizabeth Stamp is just one of the many stamps you can get for FREE during sale a bration. You may have missed this stamp it is found on page 18 and it is one of the single stamps that Stampin' Up has to offer. It is so elegant and it doesn't need much help because it looks like a winner by itself.

This card is so simple to make but makes a big impact. It is even more striking in real life and the color combination is lovely. I reversed them and this is what you get.
One little stamp, well two, and an embossing folder and a punch and you have a beautiful card. You can change out the sentiment with any Teeny Tiny Wish for versatility. I used the trio flower punch which is retired but you could use the Boho Blossoms punch or the Itty Bitty Shapes punch pack and you'll be set. Add a little bling with Basic Gems pearls or rhinestones and voila, ready to be sent to a lucky recipient.
During Sale a bration if you order $50 worth of Stampin' Up product from me on my website you will recieve your choice of a free item out of the Sale a bration catalog and also I will send you a Thank You card hand stamped by me for your own use.
If you have any questions let me know and thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

The Owl's Story

I have been making cards with the new stamp set Animal Stories lately. I have grown kids and no grandchildren, yet so this set got set aside for a while. But it is so cute and once the ink gets on that rubber I just love all the stamps. These will be great for scrap booking too, especially for baby and little kid pictures. Like a day at the zoo, or ocean, or a hike in the woods.
I got this card from Amanda. I totally cased her card, except for one significant difference. I did not use the IN COLOR colors. I used the regular line of colors that will always be there. She has been so gracious to let me use her design.

There is a lot going on with this card.
  • Let's start with the main card. It's elegant eggplant and it's stamped with the large flower stamp from Circle Circus in elegant eggplant for a bg.
  • Then the whisper white cs 2 2/3 x 3 1/2 was stamped in tempting turquoise with the Teeny Tiny wishes HB.
  • The 3 Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads were added using the mat pack and paper piercer to line them up in a neat row.
  • This was backed with tempting turquoise cs 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 then more mustard cs. 3 x 4
  • A square scallop was punched out of elegant eggplant and mounted on the white.
  • The owl was stamped on a scrap of whisper white in more mustard, then using the stamp-a-ma-jig I hit it with a coating of versamark and clear embossing powder, heated it and got the nice shine on it. He was popped up with a dimensional.
  • I put a piece of white cs inside, because the e. eggplant is so dark, and stamped a flower circle from circle circus on the bottom right corner and a sentiment in t. turquoise. I forgot to take a picture of that and I already gave this one to a friend for his birthday.
He really seemed to like it. His wife stamps also so I think he appreciated it very much.

It's Good To Dream of a "Little" Blog Candy

How about a little Razzle Dazzle today. Don't you love this stamp? It just looks like a fantasy and the perfect sentiment to go along with it is "It's good to dream" That's what I'm doing every time I stamp something, dreaming about how someone will enjoy receiving a hand made card for some special occasion or for no reason at all. Would you like to receive this card in the mail? Hint Hint keep reading Or better yet make this card for someone special in your life. Here is all you need to do:

  • I inked up the razzle dazzle large flower stamp with green galore ink.
  • I used a blender pen to "erase" the areas I wanted a different color.
  • I then got my markers in rose red, lovely lilac and regal rose and colored the stamp where appropriate, then stamped it on the 2 1/2" square white cs.
  • The corner rounder was used on two corners opposite each other.
  • I layered this on top of rose red 2 3/4" square. The corner rounder was used again at the same corners
  • I took the 7/8" x 5 1/2" white piece and stamped three times, using the stamp-a-ma-jig for alignment, the small flower where I followed the same procedure.
  • I backed that with a piece of lovely lilac 5 1/2" x 1 1/8"
  • Then taking a piece of lovely lilac 2 3/4" x 1" and using the eyelet border punch on it I attached it to the rose red piece.
  • I punched a 1" circle out of the lovely lilac
  • I stamped on scrap whisper white cs in rose red It's good to dream from the same set.
  • Punched that out with the modern label punch. Then sponged the edges lightly with rose red.
  • I put the card together on a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" green galore piece, folded in half. The large flower is adhered with dimensionals.
This is a fun card to make and it would be a fun card to receive. So here's the thing. If you leave a comment on my blog on this card by July 16 at 5 pm I will draw for a winner and send the winner this card. Probably have a pretty good chance.

Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Birds and Blooms

This card reminds me of a bright sunny summer day. The Birds and Blooms die that works with the Big Shot die cutting machine is oh so fun. It makes putting a card together super fast. I love the bright colors and how they play off of each other. Here is what I did.
  • Gable green cs 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" scored at 5 1/2" and folded in half.
  • Along one short side I used the scallop edge punch and then adhered a piece of tempting turquoise cs 5 1/2" by 1"
  • The Bird and flower were cut out with the Big Shot. Then the pink flower was given some texture with the canvas bg stamp and curled with the bone folder.
  • The leaves are green galore, also cut with the Birds & Blooms die then took a trip through the paper crimper.
  • The flower is attached with a turquoise brad sent through all three layers of the flower. Then both the flower and the bird were attached with dimensionals.
  • The Modern Label punch was used on more tempting turquoise.
  • The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes which was stamped on yoyo yellow cs in tempting turquoise ink, I also inked up the flower, just the head, from the Razzle Dazzle set with the turquoise marker and stamped that to the left of happy birthday, then punched it out with the word window and adhered it to the modern label, then to the card.
