The Lone Tree

When I make a card that is designed by Michelle Zindorf I feel like a real artist. She is so talented and shares her tutorials with everyone so I occassionally make one of her cards. It always gets ooowws and aaaahhhs when I give it away. Saturday my son will turn 30 years old, don't ask me where the time has gone, but he will receive this for his birthday card with a nice surprise inside. He is an artist so I hope he enjoys this a great deal.
Actually you may think that this is a complicated, long process to get this card done but it took me about 15 minutes to complete. Here is the link to the tutorial. Give it a try and you may surprise yourself.

If you have any questions let me know. If you want to order anything from Stampin' Up go to my website and with just a $50 order you can choose a FREE SAB item.

SC245 SCS Later rather than Sooner

This has taken me almost two weeks to get posted. I had it done fairly quickly but so much is going on in my life I just could not get it up here. Anyway, here it is.
The sketch that was going for that week, (2 weeks ago) looked difficult to me but once I got going on it it seemed to go together very nicely. Here is the layout. Give it a try anytime and link it to the thread over at Split Coast Stampers which is found here. If you upload a card over there and link it to a sketch challenge you will be amazed at the encouragement you will receive. Those people over there are so nice and they love to see anything anyone does. There are literally thousands of examples of card and scapbook page layouts for you to look at. You should really check it out. I do not get anything for telling you about this it's just a really cool place to go and check out. If you want ideas that's the place to be.
Well , here is the sketch that I made today's card from. If you have any questions just email me and I will be happy to answer any thing.

The Medallion

It's finally here. The Medallion stamp is the #1 seller at Stampin' Up right now. It is listed as a background stamp but how could this not be a focal point. It has such a wow factor. If you look at the front cover of the new catalog this card, or a similar version, is there.

This is what I did.
  • I took a piece of naturals white cs 8 1/2 x 4 1/4, scored it at 4 1/4 and folded it in half.
  • Then I inked up that beautiful Medallion stamp with More Mustard ink and stamped it right on the front of that cs.
  • I took more mustard cs 4 1/4 x 1 and put the scallop edge punch to it. Adhered that to the right edge of the card.
  • Then added a piece of brown dsp 1/4 x 4 1/4, and real red cs the same size along the right side.
  • Stamped Thanks so much from Sincere Salutations right on the front in choc. chip.
  • I used the spritzer tool with more mustard marker to give the entire card a speckled appearance.
  • Then right in the center I attached a silver brad from hodgepodge hardware.
That's it and you have a great card to brighten someone's day.
