Animal Stories of all kinds

Posted by Picasa
  • Just three more days for the scrapbooking special for the month of May. This card was made with the stamp set called Animal Stories. It is on special for 30% off the regular price. Don't miss out on it.  I also used Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes. The kiss technique was used to get that pattern on the giraffe. First I inked it up with Apricot Apeal, then I inked up the bubbles stamp from Circle Circus and touched the rubber of the giraffe with it several times before stamping it onto Whisper White card stock.

Here is one made with the whale stamp from the same Animal Stories set. I added some glitter to the "water" to make it sparkle. Everything else is pretty self explanatory. I inked up the embossing folder before running the white cardstock through the Big Shot.
Here I used the owl out of the Animal Stories stamps and just repeated him 3x. Also using Circle Circus for the background.
And one last one is the elephant from the same set. Repeated in Positively Pink, Elegant Eggplant and Summer Sun
If you have any questions leave a comment or email me. Also if you want to order anything to make cards like these email me and I'll be happy to help you. Some of these supplies are retired but the current supplies that Stampin' Up has available make equally (or better) cards and scrapbooking pages.
I would love to hear from you what you think about these cards and thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Circles of Sympathy

Just a few more days left in Saleabration and then it will be gone for another year. If you want to place an order head over to my website and get a FREE item or two. Let me know if you need anything or have any questions I would love to help you.

There was a similar card sent to me by my upline, Cindy Fodor, so I'm not sure who made it but I cased it and this is what I came up with.
  • I used the Circle Circus stamp set to get the main image panel. They were stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then sponged in Early Espresso ink, a grid was stamped on top in Black stazon ink .
  • The Black Card and the Vanilla panel were both run through the Big Shot with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder then sponged with Early Espresso ink. The Vanilla panel was also edge with the Eyelet Border Punch onc of my favorites
  • With Sympathy from Teeny Tiny Wishes set was stamped in black and punched out with the modern label punch and another black one was also punched out and moved over to the left. A pearl from Basic Jewels was added on the end right there and also 3 pearls were added to the main image panel.
I hope you like this card. It is very striking in real life and the texture just doesn't come through on the picture the way I wish it could but I sent this to a friend of mine who lost her mother recently. I pray it brought her a little bit of comfort.
Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Update on this one.  Julie Gearinger created the original card with the Button Button set from the Occasions Mini Catalog. You can check all her work out on her blog. Thanks Julie for letting me know. Your blog is great.

The Owl's Story

I have been making cards with the new stamp set Animal Stories lately. I have grown kids and no grandchildren, yet so this set got set aside for a while. But it is so cute and once the ink gets on that rubber I just love all the stamps. These will be great for scrap booking too, especially for baby and little kid pictures. Like a day at the zoo, or ocean, or a hike in the woods.
I got this card from Amanda. I totally cased her card, except for one significant difference. I did not use the IN COLOR colors. I used the regular line of colors that will always be there. She has been so gracious to let me use her design.

There is a lot going on with this card.
  • Let's start with the main card. It's elegant eggplant and it's stamped with the large flower stamp from Circle Circus in elegant eggplant for a bg.
  • Then the whisper white cs 2 2/3 x 3 1/2 was stamped in tempting turquoise with the Teeny Tiny wishes HB.
  • The 3 Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads were added using the mat pack and paper piercer to line them up in a neat row.
  • This was backed with tempting turquoise cs 2 3/4 x 3 3/4 then more mustard cs. 3 x 4
  • A square scallop was punched out of elegant eggplant and mounted on the white.
  • The owl was stamped on a scrap of whisper white in more mustard, then using the stamp-a-ma-jig I hit it with a coating of versamark and clear embossing powder, heated it and got the nice shine on it. He was popped up with a dimensional.
  • I put a piece of white cs inside, because the e. eggplant is so dark, and stamped a flower circle from circle circus on the bottom right corner and a sentiment in t. turquoise. I forgot to take a picture of that and I already gave this one to a friend for his birthday.
He really seemed to like it. His wife stamps also so I think he appreciated it very much.

New Year New Catalog New Set

This is the day we have all been waiting for. The new catalog is here and in just a little while you will be able to access it right here and order anything you see in it.
I chose to show you the brand spanking new and exciting Circle Circus. When I saw this set I knew I had to have it and I hope you feel the same way. The possibilities are endless, as usual.
Here are the particulars.

I started with the card which is Gable green and measures 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" which is stamped with the circle circle from the set in Green Galore Ink.

The second layer is a piece of Green Galore cs 2 3/4" x 2 1/2"
On top of that is Whisper White cs, stamped with one of the circles from the set in Cameo Coral.
Also a 3/4" x 5 1/2" strip of Cameo Coral cs where I used the Scallop Edge Punch .
Then I stamped the flower circle from the set on Whisper White cs in
Cameo Coral and cut it out. Backed that with a Scallop Circle Punched out of Green Galore cs and mounted it on dimensionals. And the last little gem is up in the right hand corner. Another circle from the set stamped on Whisper White cs in Green Galore ink, punched out with the 1" circle punch and mounted on Cameo Coral punched out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. cs

And TaDa, the inside of the card is stamped too. I used the same circle which is on the front in the white field and lined them up for show with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. I don't know how anyone stamps without this tool. It helps line objects and especially words up just perfectly. And it's so simple to use.
Well, I hope you like this card and give it a try at home. Thanks for stopping by at Paula's Place.
