Stamping 411 Challenge 211

Here we are at another challenge from Stamping 411. I really appreciate the operators over there. They come up with the greatest sketches and keep me inspired to keep creating. This is my favorite sketch so far. Here is what I did.
The base of the card is Melon Mambo. Cut to  4 1/4" wide  x 11", scored at 5 1/2"
Then I used the Dotted Ribbon Border Punch on basic black and made instant ribbon, (love that punch)
Layer 2: 3 1/2" square of Newsprint dsp matted with a piece of basic black cs 1/8" larger
Layer 3: 3 x 1 1/4"piece of Newsprint dsp matted with a piece of basic black cs 1/8" larger
Layer 4: I stamped black onto Melon Mambo using one of the frames from Four Frames stamp set. I also stamped onto Melon Mambo using Punch Potpourri stamp set (retired Hostess set) the three flowers. and punched them out with Boho Blossoms punch. I added a rhinestone and dimensionals to the back of the frame.

Changes they are a coming

Starting today June 1 demonstrators are allowed to pre order from the up coming 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. If you would like to take advantage of a discount on all items and get the opportunity to order new products early plus a number of other benefits contact me paularough1@gmail.com to find out how you can become a demonstrator. Even someone who never wants to do a workshop can benefit from this program.
This promotion happened in April where everyone was given a chance to purchase the Four Frames set that will be available on July 1 and here is the card I made with my set.
It looks very similar to the promotion picture but you can see it a whole lot better.
  • It uses Marina Mist, River Rock, Cherry Cobler, Whisper white card stock
  • Printed Paisley dsp.
  • Four Frames and Hello Again stamp sets with Basic Black and Cherry Cobler ink
  • The Tools used are Scallop Trim Border punch, Small oval punch, Boho Blossoms punch, and the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and of course the Big Shot.
I think my new favorite color is Marina Mist. It's not really a turquoise, sort of a light aqua but it has a richness and depth that is beautiful. If you haven't tried it yet I strongly suggest you do, I'm thinking you'll love it too.
I will post a link to the Last Chance Items when it becomes available. New catalogs are coming too. Let me now if you want to preorder one. They are $5 plus shipping If you want to pick it up from me there will be no additional charge but you must let me know soon.

Narcissus for Easter

Easter is coming and I saw a card similar to this on Deesigns blog and just loved it. So last night our stamping group for our church got together and this is what I made. It will go to one of the veterans at the VA hospital here in town for Easter. I hope that it brightens his day.

What I used:
  • Stamps: Teeny Tiny Sayings and Four Frames
  • Inks: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black
  • Paper: Pumpkin Pie cs, Dafodil Delight cs, Whisper White cs
  • Tools: Decorative Label punch, Boho Blossoms punch, 5 Petal Flower punch, Scallop oval punch
  • Accessories: Soft Subtles brads
For the centers of the flowers I crunched up the card stock really well and kept working it until it was soft enough to form and then glued each to the center of the flower.

Spring is Blossoming with Sneak Peek products from the upcoming 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. You can get these brand-new products in one of two ways:
  • Spend $20* on any Stampin' Up! products and become eligible to purchase both the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper.
  • Host a $350* workshop and get the Four Frames Set and Paisley Petals Designer Series Paper for FREE!  Click Here and take advantage of this offer before it's too late.
