This is Jeanette's birthday card for this year. It is called triple stamping. The idea behind it is you cut three white panels of card stock, each about 1/2" to 3/4" smaller than the previous one. Then temporarily stick them together and stamp on them. Then Cut matting of a complimentary color for in between each layer. In this card I have used these measurements.
4 x 3 1/2, 3 x 2 1/2, 2 x 1 1/2 All white card stock
4 1/2 x 4, 3 1/4 x 2 3/4, 2 1/4 x 1 3/4 Crumb Cake card stock
Card base measures 4 3/4 x 8 1/2 folded in half.
Then I stamped the happy birthday medallion from Happiest Birthday Ever three times, twice on Pool Party and once on white and punched them each out. One with the scallop circle punch, one with 1" circle punch and the smallest one I hand cut. No punch fits it exactly.Layered on top of each other and popped them on the card with dimensionals. I used crumb cake bias tape for the bow. I ran the crumb cake mats through the Big Shot with the embossing folder Beautifully Baroque. Glued it all together with Tombo glue and put it one a white card stock base.
The images are from Fresh Vintage and Delicate Doilies and the ink is Crumb cake, Pool Party and Basic Gray.

Fun Birthday Card

A while ago I needed a special birthday card for my niece. She is a stamper so it couldn't be just any ordinary card. Here is what I came up with.
I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and embossed the Flowering Flourishes with clear embossing powder. Then I heavily sponged the card stock with Cajun Craze, Not Quite Navy, Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler which made the embossed part jump right out. This is called emboss resist. Punched a border out of Cherry Cobbler for the bottom, I used the Finishing Touches Edgelits and one of the Apothecary Accents Framelits for the label, which is Cajun Craze. I used the word window punch for the happiness from Fabulous Phrases but any sentiment would work here. A couple of DD brads and it was all put on a Cajun Craze card base. She loved it and it now sits in her stamp room hopefully inspiring her to create beautiful cards for her friends and family. Keep Stamping and thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Brenna's Birthday Card

Hello, and welcome to Paula's Place. I'm so glad you stopped by to take a look at what I have for you today.
I found this adorable frog on Debbie Henderson's blog and had to give it a try. My grand niece turned eleven years old so I made her this card. She loves frogs and bugs and outdoor things and this fit her perfectly. Notice the thought bubble, it's new from Stampin' Up. It says Hoppy Birthday. So cute.
The frog was made with  a number of punches and the lily pad from an oval die which was then run through the Big Shot inside the perfect polka dot embossing folder. One of my favorite techniques. It gives card stock instant texture and depth and only takes about 10 seconds to do. I also ran the Bashful blue mat piece through the Big Shot using the swirls embossing folder from Cuttlebug which gives the impression of water. Perfect for the background. The flower was stamped in Stazon Black and colored with a blender pen and ink. Pumpkin pie and Pretty in Pink and punched out with the Boho Blossom punch. The Punches I used for the frog are as follows.
Wide Oval punch-head  Then I used the black marker to draw a smile and nose.
Large oval-Legs
1 3/4" circle punch- body
1 3/8" circle punch-body
Boho blossom punch-feet
Eyes-Green-1/2" circle punch, white-punch pack circle, black 1/4" circle punch also a white gel pen was used to give those highlights.
Frog is made with Certainly Celery card stock and then sponged with the same color ink
Lily pad is made with Wild Wasabi card stock and sponged with the same color ink.
I would love to hear from you. Tell me you stopped by and how you like Mr. Froggie.

I almost forgot to mention the conversation bubble. It's from Designer Type Photopolymer Stamp Set. The first Photopolymer Stamp Set Stampin' Up has put out. I'm confident that there will be more sets in the new catalog coming out at the end of May.

Triple Owl on Tangerine

Okay I'm back finally able to post another entry here. Had a wonderful time in Arizona but couldn't get any computer time. Too many mountains to climb. If you ever get the chance to go to Sedona, AZ you have to go just to see it and if you like to be outdoors and hike, well, it's just heaven. We were there for 16 days and went on that many hikes. It was amazing, every day we would say this is gorgeous.

Back to my stamping world. Sale-a-bration has started and what that means for you is that you can spend, host or join to earn free product. This is the best time of the year.
The card above, totally cased from Mary Fish, is one example of the stamp set Punch Bunch, available in wood or clear mount. Every stamp in the set has a coordinating punch, so stamping and cutting out is very quick.

The Card:
The owl was stamped in Night of Navy Ink on Whisper White card stock then punched out with the 2 step Owl punch,   Curly Cute Happy Birthday stamp was dipped in Night of Navy ink and applied to the vellum.
Bashful Blue, Night of Navy, Tangerine, Whisper White card stock and vellum were used. Night of Navy and Tangerine ink. I used the heart punches heart to heart and the small heart. For the party hat I stamped Tangerine ink on Whisper White card stock using the strawberry from Tart and Tangy and punched it with one of the points from the large star punch
Also the 1 3/4" circle punch was used to create those beautiful big circles you see in Tangerine Three of them fit perfectly across the 5 1/4" span of the card.

If you have any questions let me know. Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.

Star Spangled

Happy Independence Day! We celebrate our freedom in this country every year on July 4th and one of the symbols associated with that day, and our flag, is the star. Stampin' Up has some wonderful star punches to make those images so quick and simple. And beautiful red, white and blue card stock to add just the right colors. This is to celebrate the birth of our country and here is how I did it.
  • I started with Whisper White cs for the base of the card, 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" folded in half and creased with the bone folder.
  • Real Red cs 5 1/4" x 4" for the next layer.I ran this through the Big Shot with the star texture plate. It's sort of hard to see in the picture but it's there. If you spray the cs lightly with rubbing alcohol just before it goes through the texturizing it will be more defined.
  • Night of Navy 3/4" x 4"
  • Two stars punched out with the large star punch. 1 in white cs and 1 in Night of Navy cs.
  • 3 small stars punched out with the small star punch, 2 from white cs and 1 from Night of Navy cs
  • Birthday Wishes was stamped on Whisper White in Real Red classic Ink then punched out with the word window and adhered to the Navy strip.
  • I added the star brads on the 2 large stars in contrasting colors. They each go through the star and the red layer but not the white layer. Makes for a neat card inside.
All completed ready to send out to some lucky recipient. A simple card to make with high impact. Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place.
