Rick's Birthday Card

Isn't this spring like. We need that around here. We got 7.4" of snow on Tuesday of this week. It's so piled up around here they don't know where to put any more of it. It needs to start melting, it's March already. Okay I got that out of my system so let's look at the card. I saw something similar on splitcoaststampers so I ran with it. I love embossing folders, they give a card instant texture and depth and this cute dsp filled in where it needed a pop of color. The linen string acts as a balloon string and the button ( non SU) is just the right touch. I hope my brother liked it.

Declare your Independence Birthday

Posting another patriotic inspired card today. This one is for my nephew. This card looks very simple and in design it is, but in execution it is not. The flag is masked off, that means all four sides, then the blue star field is masked off, then the stripes are each masked and then opened up and re-masked after the red is applied. I like how it turned out but a little more complicated than I first thought it would be.
Thanks for stopping by and looking.

Stamping 411 Challenge 222

I just realized that this fits the stamping 411 challenge 222 just perfectly. The oval is changed to the ornate note and the little object is flipped to the other side and I made mine a bird. This is a little out of my comfort zone because of the intricate cutting but I have to tell you it went really fast. I would say no more than 2 minutes to hand cut around the scroll work and the bird. I used the rock n roll technique on the bird to pull the two colors together which are Pacific Point and the new In Color for 2011 and 2012 Pool Party.  Thanks for stopping by At Paula's Place
